Brooke Quillen Photography was mentioned in the Hulafrog.com 2018 and 2019 Hula Hot List: 25 Fab Family Photographers around the Laurel-Columbia area. Some of my work has been published in the local Pennysaver and Laurel Leader. I have completed two online photography classes, most recently the Hollywood Art Institute Photography Course and have participated in several webinars the latest being Foodtography (to keep things interesting). I am currently working on a side project with my friend and neighbor on a cookbook

Born and raised in Maryland I always had an artsy side, as a kid I loved to draw, listen to music and took tap, ballet and jazz dance lessons. As a teen I enjoyed taking film photos of friends and family with my mother's camera or those old disposable cameras. Time went on and digital cameras came out, I was hooked. I thought long and hard before going professional. I knew I wanted to offer personable, affordable and amazing photos. I always thought photographers charge too much. I started offering my services in 2017 and have learned so much not just about taking pictures but about myself and gained many new friends! I love when my clients keep coming back because it tells me I'm doing something right. I would say my photography style is dark and moody with a natural feel. I want to stand out from the crowd, light and airy is pretty but it seems so cliché. I currently live in Howard County, Maryland and keep busy working full time as an Office Manager for a local government agency. Fun fact about myself, I once lived in Alaska for three years where I worked for the State Arts Council.
